BOOKING A WORKSHOP - INFORMATION:

Booking onto a workshop, course or club:

You can book onto a workshop either by emailing suebrownecreative@hotmail.co.uk or by using the contact tab on the menu below to reserve a space, request further information, or find out which workshop would suit you best. You will then be sent a booking form which you will need to return along with your payment. Once the transaction is completed your booking is confirmed. All FASHIONSKOOL workshops, courses and clubs are deliberately small to ensure you receive full attention. Bookings for workshops are taken on a first-come-first-served basis and, as spaces are very limited you are advised not to delay to avoid risk of disappointment. Club members have priority booking for subsequent terms.

Ability Levels:

FASHIONSKOOL's holiday workshops are individually graded to it's skill levels: beginners, beginners+, intermediate and intermediate+. Children’s workshops and clubs have a minimum age recommendation (from age 8+). It is suggested that you follow these guidelines when making an initial booking and seek guidance for moving up to higher levels when you attend your session. Our Teen's Dressmaking Clubs cater for mixed abilities and are suitable for Beginners+ in school year 8 to those studying Fashion and Textiles at A-level,  the Pre-teens Dressmaking Club is suitable for Beginners+/age from 10 years. Adult dressmaking classes are currently available on Friday mornings and are ideal for for Beginners and Refreshers up to intermediate level.

Equipment:

All equipment and materials are, unless otherwise stated, provided for the session. However, please feel free to bring your own sewing machine if you are lucky enough to have one, (please ensure that it’s in good working order, not more than 5 years old and, unless you are booking a complete beginners’ class, you must be able to thread it up yourself). If you would prefer to bring your own machine and equipment please advise this prior to the class as it will assist in the room prep. It is also recommended that you bring slippers or soft shoes to wear to avoid the danger of occasional pins and scissors left lying on the floor!

Dogs,  babies, young children, illness and restrictions:

Sometimes our dog is at the property. She is small, friendly, won’t jump up or bark at you and is low shedding; so not usually a problem for allergy sufferers. Adults are welcome to bring (and take responsibility for) pre-crawling babies in adult classes however it is not appropriate to bring young children.  Please consider others by not attending or sending your children to their class when they're ill or self-isolating, anyone visibly unwell will be asked to leave. We strictly adhere to government guidelines regarding corona virus and you will be sent the FASHIONSKOOL covid-safe rules when booking; please ensure all attendees have read and understand these in advance.

Minimum class-size numbers, cancellations and etiquette:

FASHIONSKOOL workshops need a minimum of 3 bookings (and courses a minimum of 4) in order to run. You will be given at least 48 hours notice prior to the start of a workshop or course if it has to be cancelled due to it being under-subscribed. In the event of a workshop or course having to be cancelled for any reason an alternative date maybe offered or fees can be transferred or refunded. Your own cancellation of a booking will only be refunded where the space is able to be re-filled.  Please do not arrive late as it delays the session and is unfair on others in the group. Equally, it is appreciated that you don't arrive more than 5 minutes early as there is no waiting area and it may delay setting-up for the class.
