TEEN-STYLE RELAXED-FIT TROUSERS
This on-trend, easy-to-wear trouser style works in every teen's wardrobe; make them in a stylish cotton print and wear them every day until the end of the summer.
This workshop is ideal for those already confident to use a sewing machine and who have already made a beginners+ clothing project. You will learn how to prepare your fabric, pin and cut out these gorgeous full-length, easy-fit trousers, which have front pleats, pocket details, elasticated casings for the waist and ruched side-hem details, using an exclusive FASHIONSKOOL paper pattern provided in your chosen size. You will pick up lots of great sewing tips whilst joining the pieces together using a sewing machine and finishing seams neatly with the opportunity of using an overlocker.
Please refer to the sizing notes below to choose your size and state your requirement when booking so that a pattern can be prepared for you:
Children's Sizes: age 10-11, age 11-12.
Teen's (based on UK women's sizes): 4, 6, 8, 10, 12.
SIZING: The difference between 'Teen' sizing and children's sizing is in the cut of the pattern; sizes are based on UK women's sizing but adapted for a slightly less 'full' figure. Styles have proportionate darts where appropriate, shaped waist and hips, and longer body, arm and leg lengths than for equivalent children's sizes. For example, the Teen's size 10 is most comparable to a women's dress size 10 and children's age 16 clothing size, further sizing advice given on request.
For this workshop you will need to provide (ideally 100% cotton) fabric in a 2-way print. For 1-way prints add 25 cm length. Please avoid large repeats, obvious checks or stripes that will need matching and slippery polyester type fabrics.
112 cm width fabric: For sizes age 10-11 or age 11-12 = 2.20 m
For teen sizes 4, 6 or 8 = 2.20 m. For sizes 10 or 12 = 2.5 m
150 cm width fabric: For sizes age 10-11 or age 11-12 =1.40 m
For teen sizes 4, 6, or 8 = 1.50 m For sizes (Teen) 10 or 12 = 1.70 m
Equipment, elastic, threads and light refreshments are all provided. Feel free to bring your own sewing machine (please ensure it's in good working order and you are able to thread it yourself). Please bring a packed lunch - weather permitting we'll be eating in the garden.
