The 'Skater' skirt workshop always has great appeal as, not only is it one of the more simple clothing projects to make, it looks different in every print or fabric used so has seemingly endless possibilities.

This workshop is ideal for those who already know how to use a sewing machine, having completed at least one Beginners/Beginners+ level project (ie., easy-level pyjamas) and wish to further develop their machine-sewing skills.

You’ll learn how to prepare, pin and cut your fabric (using an exclusive FASHIONSKOOL paper pattern in your chosen size) and how to finish seams neatly, turn hems and attach a separate elasticated waist casing.

Choose from the following sizes and state your size and length requirement when booking so that your pattern can be prepared for you:  Age 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 or 15.

For this workshop you will need to provide your own fabric;

(a usable 112 cm width or wider):

For sizes age: 9, 10, 11 or 12 =  1.30 m and

for Teen sizes: 6, 8 or 10  = 1.40 m.

                                                                                                            Suggested fabric: medium dress-weight 100% cotton woven plains or prints (1 or 2 directional prints). Please avoid checks or stripes which will need matching.

All equipment, threads, elastic and light refreshments are included. Please feel free to bring your own sewing machine if you are lucky enough to have one however, do ensure it is in good working order and you are able to thread it yourself. Please bring a packed lunch and slippers to wear.
