Cut & sew Short Summer Pyjamas
(frilled hems optional)

This fun workshop is suitable for those who are able to use a sewing machine and there are various options for all skill levels. Your ideal first 'beginners' clothing project at FASHIONSKOOL is our well-loved basic pyjamas and today you'll have the opportunity to make a simple shorts-length version ready for summer. Those who have previously made our easy-level pyjamas will also enjoy making these and will be increasing their skills to beginners+ level by adding ready-made trims (not shown here). Our intermediate-level version (shown above) allows those with higher skill-levels (who have been sewing for some time at beginners+ level) the opportunity to learn to make and include frilled hems.

Not yet confident on a sewing machine? Book in for one of our 'Learn to use a Sewing Machine' classes suitable for complete beginners or refreshers and you'll be eager and ready for your first clothing project!

In this workshop you’ll be shown how to prepare your fabric, pin and cut out short length pyjama pants (with optional frilled hem detail) using an exclusive FASHIONSKOOL paper pattern provided. You will learn how to join the pieces together by sewing them on a sewing machine and Beginners+ and intermediate level students will learn how to either attach a ready-made trim or gather fabric to make a frill to trim the hem

After lunch you'll then creatively customise a vest top or t-shirt with a simple applique design using the fabric remnants or continue with your gathering skills to make a frilled trim.

For this workshop you will need to provide:

Fabric: 1 metre of 114cm+ wide fabric (medium-weight 100% woven and printed cotton is ideal).

1 x cotton jersey vest or t-shirt in white or a colour to complement your fabric (doesn't have to be new!)
