The Empire-Line Dress
This is a great workshop for those already able to use a sewing machine who would like to further develop their sewing skills and make this simple but stunning easy-to-wear style inspired by the current Jane Eyre trend. This dress has gently elasticated sleeves and neckline and decorated with a ribbon which ties at the back for a flattering fit.
You'll learn how to prepare your fabric before pinning and cutting out your dress using an exclusive FASHIONSKOOL paper pattern in your chosen size, then join the pieces together using a sewing machine, finish seams neatly, make casings for the elasticated neckline and sleeve hems and trim with a satin ribbon.
You will need to bring your own (100% cotton)fabric and coordinating satin ribbon.
Choose from the following sizes and state your requirement when booking so that a pattern can be prepared for you: Age 10-11, 12-13 or 14-15.
All equipment, threads and elastic are provided. Feel free to bring your own sewing machine if you are lucky enough to have one (please ensure it is in good working order and you are able to thread it up yourself). Please bring a face mask, slippers or soft indoor shoes to wear, drinks, break-time snacks and a packed lunch (weather permitting we'll have a picnic in the garden)
