THE DIPPED-BACK HEM SKIRT & THE SKATER SKIRT
A choice of two styles within one workshop - these beautiful semi-circular skirts are ideal projects for those interested to start making their own clothes. Both cut from the same block, they have a separate elasticated waist casing; the 'Skater Skirt' just touches the knee and the alternative 'Dipped-back hem' option reaches mid-calf at the back.
This workshop is ideal for those who already know how to use a sewing machine, having completed at least one beginners level project (i.e., Easy-Level pyjamas) and wish to further develop their machine-sewing skills.
You’ll learn how to prepare, pin and cut your fabric (using an exclusive FASHIONSKOOL paper pattern in your chosen size) and how to finish seams neatly, turn hems and attach a separate elasticated waist casing.
Choose from the following sizes and state your size requirement when booking so that your pattern can be prepared for you:
Age 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 or 15.
For this workshop you will need to provide (112cm+ width) fabric:
For sizes 10, 11 or 12 :SKATER = 1.25 m, DIPPED HEM=1.50 m For sizes 13, 14 or 15: SKATER = 1.50 m, DIPPED HEM= 1.70 m Suggested Fabric: medium dress-weight 100% cotton woven prints, with or without nap (1 or 2-direction prints).
All equipment, threads, elastic and light refreshments are included. Please feel free to bring your own sewing machine if you are lucky enough to have one however, do ensure it is in good working order and you are able to thread it yourself. Please bring a packed lunch and slippers to wear.
