Teen's Trousers with pleat-fronts, pockets, super-wide legs & optional turned-up hems
These fabulously flattering wide-leg trousers were inspired by two fashion icons; Katherine Hepburn and Harry Styles! They have roomy slant-front pockets, pleats into the front waistband, on-trend wide leg shape, a gently elasticated waistband and turned up hems which your discerning teen will love to sew as well add to their wardrobe. Made in plain or printed woven cotton; they work brilliantly in cotton drill, needlecord, gaberdine, light to medium weight denim, linen, or cotton sateen (either with or without a little stretch), these are flattering, practical and totally on-trend!
This beginners+/intermediate level workshop is suited to those already confident to use a sewing machine who have been sewing for 1 year+ and who have previously made a few beginners+ level clothing projects.
You will learn how to prepare your fabric, pin and cut out the trousers; make front pleats, generous slant-front pockets, turned-up hems (gorgeous but optional) and an elasticated casing for the waist using an exclusive FASHIONSKOOL paper pattern provided in your chosen size. You will pick up lots of useful sewing tips whilst joining the pieces together using a sewing machine and finishing seams neatly with the opportunity of using an over locker.

Available in Teen's sizes: 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and children's size: age 11-12 years.
For this workshop you will need to provide your own fabric in 100% cotton woven fabric. N.B.: When choosing a print please avoid 1-direction prints, large print repeats, obvious checks or horizontal stripes that will need matching as well as slippery polyester or man-made fibre fabrics.
112 cm width fabric:
For teen sizes (with turn-up hems) 4, 6 or 8, 10 or 12 = 2.70 m
For child size (without turn-up hems) age 11-12y = 2.50m
OR
150 cm width fabric:
For teen sizes (with turn-up hems) 4, 6, or 8 = 2m, sizes 10 or 12 = 2.50m
For child size (without turn-up hems) age 11-12y = 2.20m
Equipment, elastic, threads and light refreshments are all provided. Feel free to bring your own sewing machine (please ensure it's in good working order and you are able to thread it yourself).
Please bring a packed lunch. Please also bring slippers/soft indoor shoes/grippy socks to wear.
**SIZING: 'Teen' sizing is slightly different to 'women's sizing with a variety of amendments in the cut of the pattern; sizes are based on UK women's sizing but adapted for a slightly less 'full' figure. For example, Teen's size 10 is most comparable to a women's dress size 10 and children's age 15/16 Further sizing advice given on request.
