LEARN TO USE A SEWING MACHINE AND MAKE A SIMPLY BRILLIANT TOTE BAG.

The simple tote bag is an ideal first project for beginners; just the right size to fit your books and mags into for school or the beach and the ideal way to learn your way around a sewing machine!

The workshop begins with a mini 'How to use a Sewing Machine' lesson followed by how to prepare, pin and cut-out fabric using a paper pattern before making your own unique and ultra-useful tote bag from a selection of gorgeous cotton prints with a contrast inside facing. Pick up lots of tips as you learn new skills including how to turn sharp corners, finish seams neatly, make facings in a contrast print and sew on a patch pocket.

All materials and light refreshments are provided however please bring a packed lunch and slippers or soft indoor shoes to wear. Feel free to bring your own sewing machine if you are lucky enough to have one (it must be in good working order and you will need to bring the instruction manual unless you already know how to thread it up by yourself) otherwise use one of Fashionskool's lovely full-size pink machines.
