THE BOXY SWEATSHIRT

Sweatshirts are a wardrobe essential and FASHIONSKOOL's 2019 offering is naturally ticking all of the trend boxes. Choose between a sporty version with a raw-edged self-fabric applique (of your own design), the fashionista's favourite; the 'cold shoulder' style, the recently added on-trend 'frilled-shoulder detail' option or, using the 'boxy' block shape, design your own version. The Boxy sweatshirt has contrast ribbed neck and cuffs, a hip-length raw edged hem (you can crop yours further, lengthen slightly or even make yours asymmetric) and the ultra-cosy brushed-back knitted sweat shirting fabric (provided for you) comes in a choice of very desirable neutral colours.

This intermediate level project is suited to those who are already confident and regular users of a sewing machine, ideally having made several clothing projects previously and are looking to further develop their sewing skills. You will learn how to prepare, pin and cut knitted fabrics using an exclusive FASHIONSKOOL paper pattern in your chosen size, how to finish seams neatly (with an opportunity to learn to use an over locker), attach ribbing and either make a self-fabric applique or cut out details.

Choose from the following colours: WHITE, KHAKI, LIGHT GREY MARL or BLACK for the main body colour (rib/applique/frill colours and style details will be chosen on the day of the workshop) and choose from pattern sizes: SMALL (approx age 10-11), MEDIUM (teen's size 4-6), LARGE (teen's size 8-10). Please state your requirement when booking so that your pattern can be prepared for you.

All equipment, threads and light refreshments are provided. Feel free to bring your own sewing machine if you are lucky enough to have one; please ensure it's in good working order and you are able to thread it yourself.

Please bring a packed lunch and slippers.
