THE BOXY SWEATSHIRT
Sweatshirts are a year-round wardrobe essential and FASHIONSKOOL is offering you the opportunity to create your own cosy version - designed by your favourite designer - YOU!
This boxy-shaped sweatshirt has contrast ribbed neck and cuffs and a hip-length raw edged or turned hem (which you can crop further or lengthen slightly if you prefer). After cutting out your sweatshirt pieces you'll design your own self-fabric applique, or perhaps try on-trend self-fabric or contrast frills to embellish your design. Which ever way you choose to develop your unique sweatshirt, there are lots of new skills here and plenty of opportunity to use your imagination. Easy to wear and wash, the ultra-cosy, brushed-back knitted sweat shirting fabric and ribbing (all provided for you) comes in a choice of neutral colours.
This intermediate level project is suited to those who are already confident and regular users of a sewing machine, ideally having made several clothing projects previously and are looking to further develop their sewing skills. You will learn how to prepare, pin, cut and stitch knitted fabrics using an exclusive FASHIONSKOOL paper pattern in your chosen size, how to finish seams neatly (with an opportunity to learn to use an over locker), attach ribbing and add your own original details.
Choose (and advise when booking) from the following colours: WHITE, CREAM, BEIGE, CARAMEL or BLACK for the main body colour. The rib, applique and frill colours can all be chosen on the day of the workshop from a wider choice selection of available colours. If you'd prefer a main fabric colour other than is offered, please request details of the fabric supplier and amount needed for purchasing your own.
Choose from pattern sizes: SMALL (approx. age 10-11), MEDIUM (teen's size 4-6), LARGE (teen's size 8-10) and X.LARGE (teen's/women's size 12). Please state your size requirement when booking so that your pattern can be prepared for you.
All equipment and threads are also provided.
Please bring slippers or soft indoor shoes to wear, water bottle and a packed lunch (weather permitting we'll eat in the garden). Please read the BOOKINGS page before making your booking.
