THE BUCKET HAT
In 2020 the only hat to be seen in is the bucket hat and here's your opportunity to make your own. In a choice of fabrics including plain or printed cotton drill or denim this style is fully lined with a contrast inner crown and band lining using a choice of soft and breathable woven cotton checks to keep you cool in the sun. In a choice of two sizes, it looks set to be a continued firm favourite for all ages and genders!
This workshop is ideal for those who are already confident on a sewing machine, have done a variety of sewing projects previously and who wish to further develop their machine-sewing skills. You’ll learn how to prepare, pin and cut your fabric (using an exclusive FASHIONSKOOL paper pattern in your chosen size) and how to construct your hat from start to finish.
Choose from the following sizes and state your requirement when booking so that your pattern can be prepared for you:
Sizes: Medium (approx age 10 - 15), Large (adult).
All equipment and materials are provided and included in the workshop fee, however you are welcome to bring your own outer fabric if you prefer (approx 1m of 100% cotton medium weight fabric). Feel free to bring your own sewing machine if you are lucky enough to have one; please ensure it is in good working order and you are able to thread it yourself. Please bring a face mask and slippers or soft indoor shoes to wear, a drink, break-time snacks and a packed lunch; weather permitting you'll have a picnic in the garden.
