The Pre-Teens Fashion & Textile Club
Our brand new after-school club meets on Fridays during term-time and is ideal for older children who are keen to learn real skills within a small group. Already confident in using a sewing machine, our fashionistas are engaging their creative side through experimentation whilst building their technical skills within a variety of inspirational fashion and textile focused projects.
Ideally, having previously attended several FASHIONSKOOL holiday workshops, you'll be looking to develop your skills in machine and hand-sewing, with an interest in designing and making your own clothes and creating your own style. This club's inspirational projects cover a variety of creative textile techniques from fabric manipulation, print, knit, surface embellishment and embroidery to customisation, up-cycling and re-imagining of existing garments, as well as constructing your own garments using an exclusive FASHIONSKOOL paper pattern.
Each term there will be one 'new' clothing project; for which you'll need to provide your own fabric, and an up-cycling project; for which you will need to provide a pre-worn garment. Materials will be provided for all other projects along with haberdashery, equipment and light refreshments.
